HISTORY

 

Rab is the island of Kvarner in the Pimor-Gorski Kotar County, which in 1889 was declared a seaside resort and spa resort. British King Edward VIII and American Lady Wallis Simpson gave a new impetus to tourism by staying on the island during their travels in the Adriatic and Mediterranean in 1936. When the couple in love stopped in the beautiful old town with four bell towers and bathed naked, thus starting a new epoch and world trend – naturism.
